This exhibition is named Iningat Ilagiit, meaning “a place for family.” Inuit artists from Kinngait (Cape Dorset) have created thousands of drawings. Approximately 100,000 of these artworks are housed at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection for the West Baffin Eskimo Co-op. Almost 4,000 of these drawings, as well as 250 photographs, are available online. You can not only browse the collection, but also build your own collections of favourite artworks in order to create your own virtual exhibitions to share with others. Iningat Ilagiit is also a space for Inuit and Northern communities to connect with their own art and contribute to the important work of sharing Kinngait history and culture. Enjoy this experience virtually from the comfort of your home!
