COVID 19: An Economic Outlook

How can the social good sector weather the storm of COVID-19? The charitable and non-profit sector employs 2 million Canadians and contributes 8.5% of Canada's GDP, more than the retail trade industry. While demand for services increases, its funding sources are uncertain. In fact, Imagine Canada projects that the sector faces billions in lost revenues and massive layoffs disproportionally impacting women. Imagine Canada and TD Bank Group share a commitment to strengthening the resilience of the sector to support long-term community recovery. That is why TD is launching a series of webinars on topics designed to help charities and non-profit organizations navigate financially through these challenging times. Beata Caranci, Chief Economist at TD Economics, Brian Emmett, Chief Economist, Imagine Canada, and Bruce MacDonald, President and CEO of Imagine Canada, will discuss how the sector will change with respect to the economic challenges. This conversation, moderated by Kim Parlee, Vice President at TD Wealth, will help non-profit leaders understand the changes and identify the opportunities as they plan for the future.
