Event Details

The 21st Annual Martin Luther King Celebration is supported by academia; social, corporate, judicial and political spheres of Canada, with dedicated presence from three layers of government, law enforcement and different racial groups, especially within the Greater Toronto Area. The MLK event aims to empower communities to think differently and connect to build capacity, recognizing the need to bring people together in a non-threatening environment, using a positive mode of messaging, to open the hearts and minds for collaboration and action.

The message of Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., has long reached many during times of social upheaval. Performances will focus on arts and culture to encourage participants to raise the level of community consciousness and diversity, nurturing people to internalize positive change and make conscious and deliberate efforts to change negativity about each other that might be deeply embedded in human sub-consciousness.

We will be partnering with TKJ Productions, who share on a yearly basis via theatrical expressions. Together, this program works with students in schools and universities to bring out creativity that characterizes the rich attributes that reside in the Black community, including the creativity and colourful expression of beauty that characterizes the human race.

In the event of COVID-19 restrictions, TKJ Productions, alongside SAV Productions and the Apple Creek AV Team will collaborate to pre-record the show and live-stream it via various digital platforms.
